My life consistently revolves around the space in-between science and the arts. These two worlds are commonly stereotyped as two extreme ends of a spectrum with science viewed as a rigid, structured, “by the books” mentality and the arts seen as creatively loose and occasionally chaotic way of thinking. However, the realization that these two disciplines are both an attempt to explain the world around us allows for a beautiful melting pot of ideas that makes for a more evolved artist and progressive scientist. These interactions are what I am most passionate about in my work and sparked my inspiration for many of my photo series. As a budding marine biologist with a strong affinity for the arts, I am constantly looking for opportunities to combine my photography with my research.
